The two halves screw together and fit perfectly.
I gave it a glossy finish by painting it with acetone. It looks like it is still wet but it actually dries almost instantly.
My attempts to make a rapid prototyping machine that I will use to make parts for a machine that will be able to make parts for a copy of itself.
Great quality as usual, much better than mine. What settings did you use? ( I used ABS and had 235 degrees, 800mm/min 0.6 welding tip and the feed adjusted to give 0.55 mm diameter of platic, -I must measure the feed rate into the extruder)

ABS @ 240C, 27mm/s 0.4mm filament through a 0.3mm nozzle.
ReplyDeleteI used to get better quality when I used plain ABS.
Layer height 0.32mm, filament width 0.48mm.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the information.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that this will happen if you spray it with a clear coat of spray varnish, because they usually have an acetone base.
