I still have the part but I have changed various parameters so the parts I am making now will have a different weight.nopheadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12801535866788103677noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4339813531032979196.post-57084189068165330122011-04-04T12:48:27.791+01:002011-04-04T12:48:27.791+01:00I don't suppose you ever weighed the thing to ...I don't suppose you ever weighed the thing to see what the difference with a typical joint was...?4ndyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08675315515117082792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4339813531032979196.post-43312220846100568872010-12-29T08:26:47.836+00:002010-12-29T08:26:47.836+00:00I don't know, I use my own electronics and fir...I don't know, I use my own electronics and firmware.nopheadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12801535866788103677noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4339813531032979196.post-40655497928963904272010-12-29T03:37:18.228+00:002010-12-29T03:37:18.228+00:00Also i havent realised the first time, but -on sho...Also i havent realised the first time, but -on short- what firmware changes are needed in order to use both termocouple and termistor at same time? I dont currently have a heated bed, but i will make one fairly soon, just dint got into it yet.Noobmannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4339813531032979196.post-75799269807469113212010-12-28T16:45:47.647+00:002010-12-28T16:45:47.647+00:00No there isn't a good reason. I started using ...No there isn't a good reason. I started using a thermocouple when I was using HydraRaptor to control an oven for SMT re-flow as that is what is used traditionally. I then used it for the heated bed on HydraRaptor as it was already implemented in my hardware and firmware. Then when I made my Mendel I used the same firmware so I copied the hardware.

I am thinking of switching to a thermistor for the heated bed on my next machine as they are a lot cheaper to interface to and mount on a bed. The main downside is I calibrate them all individually to get the same accuracy as a thermocouple.nopheadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12801535866788103677noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4339813531032979196.post-26099226197069335982010-12-28T16:15:42.255+00:002010-12-28T16:15:42.255+00:00Can i ask if there is any reason why you use a ter...Can i ask if there is any reason why you use a termocouple for heated bed and termistor for extruder? I mean, wouldnt it make more sense the other way around? Is it just for convenience - or i may be missing something?
