To try it without accidentally getting other scripts involved, you can uncheck the "Activate" checkbox on every tool between fill and stretch, which right now is raft, comb & tower.Enriquehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09426013757234244524noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4339813531032979196.post-74418679454649737312008-08-26T19:18:00.000+01:002008-08-26T19:18:00.000+01:00Erik, Yes warping is massive if the object breaks...Erik,
Yes warping is massive if the object breaks away from the bed, even with ABS on a professional machine with a temperature controlled build chamber.nopheadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12801535866788103677noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4339813531032979196.post-65531135216787767902008-08-26T19:09:00.000+01:002008-08-26T19:09:00.000+01:00Hi Enrique, Won't stretch.py make the things that...Hi Enrique,
Won't stretch.py make the things that aren't round holes too large? I.e. the outline offset needs to increase as the radius of curvature reduces.nopheadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12801535866788103677noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4339813531032979196.post-40257229676872723962008-08-26T09:15:00.000+01:002008-08-26T09:15:00.000+01:00Nophead,So there's still hope for all the HDPE eve...Nophead,

So there's still hope for all the HDPE everyone had been stocking. :)
The quality seems definitely adequate for most of the functional parts for Darwin. It's not as pretty as some of the ABS pieces you made, but they may be more durable in the end and HDPE is even cheaper.

The warping you seem to be dealing with is much less than I have (had, my extruder broke). I've made a time-lapse of HDPE warping during a 3D print in progress. I think that the extended warping after layer 1 has everything to do with the fact that one it detaches from the base, it will keep deforming more and more. That's why I'll need to be able to make rafts too.

You're post is, as always, beautiful (many detailed pictures), well accompanied with clear and concise texts.Erik de Bruijnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09433438819279256757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4339813531032979196.post-62697582248688267742008-08-26T05:09:00.000+01:002008-08-26T05:09:00.000+01:00To make the holes wider in skeinforge, increase th...To make the holes wider in skeinforge, increase the "Perimeter Maximum Stretch Over Extrusion Width (ratio)" in stretch. After increasing that parameter, I guess the "Maximum Stretch Over Extrusion Width" parameter should be increased to keep it at roughly half of the Perimeter Stretch so that the infill still joins; but I don't know.Enriquehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09426013757234244524noreply@blogger.com
